Air New Zealand Air Points - Suggestions needed for Christchurch hotel/motel

I will be in Christchurch Nov 7-10 and need some accomodation. My location preferences are walking distance to a park, coffee, restaurants, "downtown".

My accomodation preference is clean, safe, fridge/stove would be nice. Collection of FFPs for the stay is unimportant. Location and type of accomodation is most important.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am spoiled here with corporate discounts that enable me to stay in 4/5* places for C$129-169 per night.
Ideally, I would like to be in that price range.

I found a pretty good site that lists all sorts of places and price ranges, but nothing beats local knowledge.

The Ashford Motor Lodge was one that stood out.

I still like the Crowne Plaza (old Parkroyal) which meets all those criteria except for the stove, ans is on the River Avon. You can earn NZ Airpoints or Priority Club points, and there is a club lounge.

The Heritage in Cathedral Square is very good too.

The Heritage looks very nice.

I frequently stay at both the Heritage or next door at the Millenium hotel.
Both are great and opposite CHCH cathedral and in walking distance to all city locations.

We have recently stayed at West Fitzroy (http://west-fitzroy.co.nz/west-fitzroy-apartments.html) Apartments.
Excellent,with full kitchen,fridge ,dishwasher ,dryer,W.machine.
In Armagh street,quiet ,fresh and best value accom we have stayed in bar none.
Ask for superior unit overlooking Armargh Street.
Walk to town,art gallery, cafe's .You must visit Caffe Roma.

If its a hotel ,yes can recommend Hertiage CHC.Last minute rates are always available on web site.
But we enjoyed our stay more at WF.Will return again.

I'ld recommend the West Fitzroy Apartments also. Parking is included.

I have booked four nights at the West Fitzroy Appts at a rate of $205 per night for a superior two bedroom appt with high speed internet. Good value IMO.

Excellent choice and great location. WF apartments are stylish with north facing balconies. 5 mins walk to Hagley Park, 5 mins walk to Victoria Square, 10 mins walk to the Square (Cathedral, Wizard etc.). Very close to bars, cafes, restaurants...

I can full recommend The Chateau On The Park
Its a bit further out of town than the other major hotels but is right on hagley park ..The rooms are 4 star plus standard and very quiet as hotel is max 3 stories and spread out with beautiful gardens..

Close to Riccarton mall biggest shopping mall / area in South Island

Has a shuttle to the city only 5 mins and the staff are really friendly , will go out of your way to make your stay enjoyable..

If you want a place with kitchen facilities best place in CHC is The Chateau Blanc spacious appartment style hotel close to the city centre 5 min walk

Many thanks to all with the recomendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the West Fitzroy. The room was well laid out, spotless and nicely equipped.
We will stay there again when in CHC.
