JetBlue TrueBlue - Flight schedule change - cancel ticket without penalty?

On DL and other airlines if there's a schedule change, it allows you to get a refund of your ticket without any cancellation penalties. Does Jetblue do the same thing?

I have just gotten notice from Jetblue that my return flight has been changed to a time that is inconvenient. I am more than happy to take the refund as a future travel credit, but I'd like to know if I can avoid having to pay the $30 per ticket to cancel.

Anyone know?

To be honest, I am not sure about a full refund - although I would imagine they would refund the fare if the change is a very big difference from the original time, granted there are no other flights between the two cities that day.

However, in my experience, when jetBlue changes my flight times they always allow me to change my flight to a more convenient time/date at no fee. What route are you flying? If there are multuple frequencies on that route, there should be no problem! Try calling jetBlue...they can definitely help you out.

JetBlue actually has schedule changes??? I have not seen one schedule change in the 3 years of flying with them and as the Travel Manger for our CompanyBlue account. Whereas I have seen my fair share on Delta.

I don't think they'd give you a full refund, since they are starting to get greedy on the credits, (so much so, that tonight I vowed never to book my company on another JetBlue flight again, but that is a whole different story) but, it'd never hurt to call and ask.

What happened? If you and your company has been so loyal to book jetBlue for 3 years running and more recently under CompanyBlue, what was strong enough to shift your role to never booking on jetBlue again??

I'm sure if you "Speak Up" at www.jetblue.com about whatever the issue was, they would try and rectify it for the future and maybe even compensate you. Every customer is important to jetBlue.

I don't want to get too much into detail, but we had a flight booked from JFK-BOS in December. Around 7pm yesterday we changed it to BOS-JFK for next week and paid the $25 change fee.

Then, around 11pm, I had to call, because I had realized the person who was travelling wouldn't make their connecting flight on Delta. In the past they would have gladly waved the change fee, since I had just made a change 4 hours prior. I spoke to two reps, and one rep went to crew support to try and have it overrided, and they would not budge. I realize I was making a 2nd change, however, it was the principal of having to pay $50 in fees on a $60 ticket.

Back in 2004, we had switched most of our business from Delta to B6 because of their excellent customer service, and in the past year, I have been slowly switching it back to Delta. We don't spend tens of thousands of dollars, but, between Oct 2004-2005 we spent around $2,400 on B6, and between Oct 2005-2006 around $1,300.

I love the actual product JetBlue flies, but, it is some of the policies that just make it not worthwhile for us anymore.

I did Speakup on the site, and will see what they have to say, but, I shoudn't have even had to do it the first place.

Not trying to start a flame war here ... but wouldnt one change fee on Delta have been more than both the change fees on JetBlue? I dont know what Delta's change fees are but I was under the impression they were significantly higher?

Delta's standard change fee is $50, only $20 more than JetBlue's. The biggest advantage Delta has over JB, is you have until midnight the following day to cancel your itineary and get a full refund (even if the ticket is non-refundable).

I realize that it is shameless to give up an airline over a $25 change fee, but it is the principal of the fact. I will reserve further judgment until I hear an answer back from JetBlue, but, I will stand on the fact that if they want to loose a customer over a $25 dispute, I am totally willing to never book a flight with them again.

That's it? I spent way more than that with B6 just by myself.

Realize the majority of those flights are either BOS-JFK or BOS-IAD... So, the itinearies check in under $100 usually, so, it may not seem like a big $$ value, but, it is a heck of alot of flights.

In contrast this year, just on my individual spending (Not total company), I have spent about $4,000 on Delta.

Just a tid bit of an update.

When I originally booked the PNR in Sept (for travel in December), the agent had confirmed to me Dec 11th, and somehow booked it for December 1st. When I called to get it fixed, they didn't document it correctly, and if you took a quick glance of the records (as what happened yesterday), it appeared they had already waved the change fee for me once. When I had called in last night after I had changed it earlier in the evening, this is why they would not give me the credit, as it appeared they had already waved it once.

Crew support reversed the 1st change fee, and gave me a credit for $25 for the 2nd change fee (even though I only asked for one fee back). When I had called last night, I may have just been connected to a couple agents who were having a bad night, and would not stop and read into the PNR record which had said that the first fee wasn't waved due to my choice.

I knew JetBlue would come through, but it was just annoying when in a sense I was flat out told I was lying and had to pay the 2nd fee regardless.

Thats GREAT! and most of my flights are SMF - LGB and OAK - LGB flights which also avg around $100 with some transcon here and there.

I just want to add that the point is not how much you spend with jetBlue, unlike most airlines, they do try and accomadate everyone but you are still dealing with another person on the other end of the phone and mistakes and miscommunication do happen, no one is perfect. I doubt when you call up jetBlue the crew member on the other end actually pull up all your flight history and calculate how much you spend, what I do know is that they do try and maintain a high level of service and sometime they do drop the ball but at least they try and fix it instead of pretending nothing happened.

I'm glad this all worked out OK. My experience has been that the phone agents are excellent, but certainly aren't perfect. The time or two something didn't go as expected, JetBlue always made it right.
