This promo is worthy of posting here in Miles Buzz, especially for non-United FTers. Use all 5 specified UAL Mileage Plus partners by 4/30/02, earn a 25,000-mile bonus. Details are here:

www.ual.com/5partnerbonus (http://www.ual.com/5partnerbonus)

and are discussed in the United forum here:

This is a very good bonus - just make sure you live in the states that the promotion is valid for.

I'm on it myself.

Unfortunately:
Existing Mileage Plus Visa cardholders and Mileage Plus Dining members are not eligible to participate.

This means many of us are ineligible to get the bonus miles.

Never put off till tomorrow the flight you can take today.

Unfortunately - many of us who do not live near the United hubs are ineligible. This promotion was also there (and discussed in FlyerTalk) last year. At that time I had sent an email to Mileage Plus complaining about the ineligibility for those who reside in 42 US states.

Bummer. I've already signed up for all the programs that they have that I want to. I'll pass on the MSN and the Nextel.

Maybe if I register a different credit card I can get the bonus for the dining? I'll try that.

As was noted in the original UA thread:

"Mileage Plus members who reside in Arizona, California, Colorado, Washington
D.C., Illinois, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia or Washington are eligible. And
finally, existing Mileage Plus Visa cardholders and Mileage Plus Dining
members are not eligible. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I think that you will be OK so long as you have never been a part of the UAL dining program.

And, there are only five total partners: MSN (have to sign up for internet service), United Plus Dining, Nextel, Mileage Plus Visa Card, United Mileage Plus Grocery shopping.

Ok, my mother is in VA, not a member of the dining program or holder of Mileage Plus CC. The grocery miles seems like an easy 3rd partner but there are none of those stores near where she lives. What about signing up for MSN for 1 month and cancelling. Does that seem reasonable? Will she be charged extra fees by MSN do you think? She already has Sprint so Nextel is a no go.

Looks like they are limiting it to areas where they have the Safeway tie-in (although kind of surprised not to see Indiana as an included state since there are a few Dominicks' stores there), and not in TX because they affiliated with AAdvantage there.

Green Stamps were so much easier...

I just registerd a different credit card and it came back that I was successfully enrolled. Try it, I think it works. I also changed my home address to my work address which may be a contributing factor as well.

Well, I need a grocery store in my area... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Could do the dining and MSN for 1 mo at $9.95 isn't too bad a price for 15Kmiles, if I could get the dining...not sure I want another cc.

I've passed on this promo so far because of these details from the T&C:

Enrollment bonus miles for signing up and activating with three, four, or five partners are not in addition to the standard enrollment bonuses for Nextel, MSN, and Mileage Plus Visa.

and

New enrollment and activity with a minimum of three participating partners is required to earn this extra enrollment bonus.

You can probably get just as many bonus points from the Visa, MNS and/or Nextel just by signing up with "standard enrollment bonuses". Also, if you are already in the dining program or the grocery miles, these might not count as "new enrollment"s.

Since I'm enrolled from way back in the dining program and my wife is already in the Safeway program, there just doesn't seem to be much point in pursuing this one.
