I apologize if this has been covered but search isn't working well for me.

I believe read somewhere that DL domestic 767 were reconfiguring their F seats to business elite. Is this the case? If so, when?

767s that have been pulled from domestic service and placed into international service are being reconfigured with BE. There are some domestic segments flown with aircraft used primarily in intercontinental service that will have BE seats but not service.

Yes and No.
DL had a bunch of 767-300ERs, extended range versions, which were configured in the domestic layout - 16 domestic F seats and a $hitload of Y seats. When they decided to expanded over the summer, they announced that these birds were going to be the first aircraft configured into the BE cabins. These birds were also the first to sport the new Y configuration that deleted the mini-cabin bulkheads. After they were converted, DL was planning on re-configuring the 767-400s to a BE configuration and fly them to larger markets next year. The 763s would fly to MAN/SNN/DUB/FCO/LGW and FCO - cities which saw 764s with the domestic config last summer.

One such example is a 767ER BE layout between JFK-ATL, but no BE service...there are a handful of other, I believe a 777 between LAX-ATL....???

Still a bit confused. The 764's flying to Hawaii and back seem to NOT have BE in First. Will they? If so, when?

It is debatable whether the service on the JFK-ATL run is not BE. It is sold as BE not 1st. And you have to consider the fact that you get real food not snack basket pikins. Granted they call it snack service but, 1st on a similar length segment would not get more than a snack basket service.

In my opinion it is real BE just a short service for a short flight. I will be flying it again in 3 weeks so I will see if it has changed in the last year.

Umm

ALL flights that operate between NYC (JFK/LGA) and ATL get actual meal service in the "front cabin".

This is one of at least 3-4 routes that are an exception to the "1550 mile" rule.....the others being BOS-ATL, BOS-CVG and LGA-ORD.

1.) All flight between NYC and ATL get a "Meal". I like to call it a snack-meal, it is the same service on the Red-Eye Transcons. ALL domestic flights on the International 763ERs or 777s have the standard first service that is associated with that route. It is obviously in the BE seat. Note: ATL-LAX and ATL-JFK do have meal service. However, there are no amenity kits, BE menus or meals, Table cloths etc.

2.) All the 764s weren't/aren't going to be converted to the BE configuration. Some of the 764s will be kept for high traffic domestic routes (Florida/Hawaii . . . ). The 764s may eventually be replaced by ex-TWA 757s which have ETOPS.

"Supplemented by," not "replaced by." ATL/CVG-HNL on a 757 would be an interesting accomplishment.

I was talking about the SLC/LAX/SFO-HNL/OGG/KOA flights. The 757 doesn't have nearly enough range to make it CVG/ATL-Hawaii! They would have to keep a 764 on a HNL route anyway . . . a lot of people comment on the cargo oppertunity to HNL. DL would not want to miss out on $$$CARGO$$$ money.
