I heard awhile back that Hawaiian Airlines was going to buy some of Delta's 767-300's. Does anybody know if they are adding more routes or going to add more additional non-stops out of Los Angeles? I was wondering if they were going to bring back the non-stop LAX-OGG(Maui) like they used to have back in the 90's.

Welcome to FlyerTalk. :)

Hawaiian indeed purchased 4 Delta 767-300s, and these planes have already been assigned to bolster service on existing routes.

On Septmber 6, Hawaiian increased their San Diego-Maui flights from seasonal summer service to daily year-round service.

In a couple weeks (October 13), they will boost their Seattle-Maui and Portland-Maui services from weekly to daily service.

Beginning November 19, they will add four weekly flights to their Sacramento-Honolulu service, for a grand total of eleven weekly flights. Also on this day they will add three weekly flights between Seattle and Honolulu, for a grand total of ten weekly flights.

One plane will serve as a spare, and there you go!

All was outlined in this PR:
