I am traveling this weekend to San Diego for a wedding. I will be staying with a relative however I need to take a shuttle to the aiport on Monday morning. Can anyone recommend a nice & eonomical shuttle service to the airport? I will be staying in Chula Vista, which is right outside of San Diego.

Thanks much!

I'll move this thread to a more appropriate place for this kind of requests - our California forum. :) Hope you'll get some helpful replies over there.

WindyCityBrother,
I would recommend cloud 9 shuttle - http://www.cloud9shuttle.com. Efficient and reliable. The other place to check out would be on the San Diego Airport website - http://www.san.org/airport/ground_transportation/shuttle_services.asp

Have fun in Sunny San Diego!

Cloud 9 is pretty much the only game in town. I don't have any complaints about them (well, except that they charge a ridiculous amount of money to take you to LAX).

May I suggest the trolley, which would probably involve about 50 minutes of travel time and costs $2.50 from Chula Vista? (It also involves a free shuttle from the trolley stop to the airport).

You just have to get to the trolley stop.

There are a few trolley stops in Chula Vista along I-5. I didn't know that there was a trolley shuttle to the airport. IMO, the next trolley extension needs an airport spur.

I didn't know that there was a trolley shuttle to the airport.Same here. Is this a dedicated shuttle to and from the airport, or is the reference by Ice Trojan referring to Bus route # 992?

My last two times, I took Cloud 9 and SeaBreeze - no problems (although it was only to a Gaslamp District hotel in each case).

BTW, Xpress Shuttle has a banner on their site concerning bus service to LAX for $45 - unfortunately, there's only a phone number, no online information.

Well, to be fair, this isn't a trolley shuttle to the airport... it's a shuttle to the airport by a trolley station. The bus is big, blue and yellow, and has the letters "A-L-A-M-something"... whatever that means ;)

I use Cloud 9, Xpress shuttle and La Costa Limo when I don't end up driving to the airport. All are fine and generally around $30-50, probably on the higher side if to/from Chula Vista.
