Hilton HHonors - Anyone have success getting moved up to Gold as UA Elite

I am currently a Hilton Silver by stays. I am also a UGS and previously a 1K. My friends who are Premiers and Premiers Exec have received Gold from Hilton without any stays. If I call Hilton will they bump me up to Gold?

Also wanted to add that I am Plat with Marriott. Would Hilton do a match?
