Muscat is advertising via a large poster presentation in the MCT lounge currently the new GF lounge. It shows a map of floor plan and decor, which is exactly like Bahrain and London Decor and smaller than BAH but much larger than LHR lounges.

MCT airport is also undergoing major renovations I'm told. Good news although it operates quite efficiently now I think. The lounge too is not bad at all food, comfort or service wise either. Net but no showers.

Kuwait - GF now uses the MUCH nicer Dasman lounge...it's shared by most carriers using KWI but a pretty good and modern 'show' indeed, food very good as is net area. No showers.

Beirut - GF uses new MEA lounge which is very impressive. Rivals anything internationally. See pics at below link;

http://www.mea.com.lb/MEA/English/Corporate/PhotoGallery.htm

Singapore - Sats premier lounge. Super lounge almost empty at GF flight times. Shared lounge next door to QF/BA J class lounge. Seperate F class area. Massage chairs, multiple net terminals, very good food and drink choice, showers and great reading selection. Large and very modern.

Bahrain - what can I say...voted one of worlds best. See GF website.

Doha -(Shared lounge) and Riyadh(Saudi Arabian lounge) are the poor..no room, old and very cramped. Toilets poor and food just acceptable. Net available in both. No showers. My advise is get a drink and walk around the terminal much more interesting than sitting in either lounge!

Cairo- even worse than the above two. Not GF's fault but if u have had the 'pleasure' of CAI you will know the terminal is horrific. Its a shared lounge by most carriers using CAI. No net, toilets or showers and food is ..mm no comment.

Paris- Terrible, once again a shared lounge .. cramped..poor food, no showers or net.

London - great, a small version of BAH decor and comfort wise but not the food variety..still very nice though. Can also get crowded.

Sydney - Air new Zealand lounge. No seperate area for F class pax but VERY large open plan modern set up, great tarmac views. Showers, net and even ironing facilities. Drink choice good but food choice very average. Seperate kids play room.

Dubai - small, modern and comfortable. Great food and drink choice. Net but no showers. Never seen it crowded. Virgin Atlantic use GF's DXB lounge also.

If anyone else wants to add any cities I havent mentioned go for it.

Hi CJ,
There are several threads such as this in the past 18mths, but not in the one post ;)

As you are well aware, my addition is DUB!
Your lounge in DUB is the BMI lounge which is opposite the main lounge of most other airlines. As you are well aware, BMI is a GF codeshare for those unfortunate enough to need to fly from LHR.

It is a large and pleasant place with several options for sitting, socialising and/or working. No hot food selection but a few munchies. Par for Ireland so far...

There is a small selection of Aussie wines and, when I was there, an excellent choice of Jameson's whiskey ^. So happily, the alcohol needs of Aussie are well catered. :)

This is if you do as the Irish do pre-flight: drink early and often! :D
(My Mrs will kill me soon... )

So no real need for the transit hotel when connecting from another carrier to GF in F to get some rest between 22:30 and 5:30 hrs ?

And FRA, it's my understanding that it is the CX F lounge in T2 for GF F pax with almost no food ?

Anyone know what lounge GF will be using for their F passengers in the new Bangkok airport?

Any updates on the GF lounge in MCT and RUH (does GF leave from Terminal 1 at RUH?)

Any updates on the GF lounge in MCT and RUH (does GF leave from Terminal 1 at RUH?)

RUH: GF uses Saudia Lounge and operates from International terminal at RUH.....lounge is crowded small, light yukky food offerings, 2 PC's, bathrooms yukky too. The desk attendant is quite helpful however.

MCT: GF now uses Oman Air lounge. Their plans to update the GF lounge to LHR, DXB BAH standards were cut when Oman pulled out as partner.
WY lounge is quite nice. Good PC's, nice seating area, clean bathrooms.

Nice to hear....are these branded airline lounges or airport-operated facilities? I enjoy seeing airline-run/operated lounges with their local touches especially at hub airports.

The lounge at CAI IS awful....don't expect it to get better. Ever. The only reason I like Terminal 2 is because it has jetways to the aircraft. Terminal 1 (Egypt Air, Arab airlines) is much better and the lounge, while primitive, is not the downright failure-you do realise that the CAI lounge is government-run Civil Authority Lounge?
I'd expect better lounges at DXB, esp. since Virgin Atlantic uses that lounge. I hope they revamp it soon enough to be something of a Mini-Clubhouse for VS, and to have showers, good catering, Wifi and other business facilities. Who knows....when T3 opens maybe they'll relocate.

I think RUH is Saudia operated, however, I could be mistaken as doesn't really have any indicators of this.

MCT is WY operated.

Enjoy

The lounge at DXB has recently been revamped to BAH/LHR standards. I think you will be pleasantly surprised next time you use GF lounge at DXB;) I think VS still uses GF lounge in DXB.
