Travel Technology - Empower cable for recent generation iPod?

I'm trying to find an Empower cable that will connect with a recent generation iPod (the IPod with video that was being sold as of a month ago; not the generation that was released a week or two ago).

Does anyone know if there is such a thing and if so, where I might find one? Searching quite a bit here and via Google hasn't produced a result.

Thanks!

I used a Kensington power source with the Kensington ipod adapter yesterday on a United 767. It charged my 30GB ipod video. Hope that helps

Nice, simple and small:

FWIW; the new (last weeks) ipods use the same cable. In fact, Ipods have been using the same cables for years, the only ones that don't use the same cable are the old ones with firewire on top and the shuffle. All other have the "dock" connector.

Nice, simple and small . . .

I saw this reviewed on some other site that turned up in a Google search, but a person stated that it didn't work with Empower outlets (he flew US, which is what I'm buying it for). I'll give it a shot, though, and see. It appears to be exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks! ^

Use it all the time on Empower. I guess the person that wrote the review didn't read the manual, because you need to pull the DC (car) plug off to reveal the Empower jack.

This maybe of limited use to you, but someone with a recent BA shopping the world magazine might be able to help. BA sell an empower charger for the Ipod for £10. I've used mine for the last year or so and it works very well.

Thanks, I've ordered the Monster cable that ScottC suggested. If, for whatever reason, that doesn't work, I'll tap into my BA network of friends to try that one.

I have an iGo 'tip' for the iPod but never use it, I use the iGo Everywhere Power 130. If I have that thing out, I have my laptop out and can use a USB cable to charge the iPod. If not, it's WAY too much junk to pull out just to power the 'pod.

As a follow-up, I bought the Monster cable ScottC recommended above. I've used it on several flights now, and it works perfectly. It's a great, compact solution to keep your iPod fully powered over a long flight. I recommend it as well.

Thanks again, everyone!

I have one of the small IGO units that is for devices other than a computer - Ipods, phones, PDAs etc. It lets you power two devices from the unit and is a lot smaller than the standard IGO power supply. It works great with the standard IGO tips for Ipods. I have used it on a mini, 60 gb video and 2g nano. It is nice in that it works on either Empower or the cigarette lighter connection that some carriers (such as AA) have.

I have both the Monster iAirPlay and Monster iCarPlay Plus for my 3G and 5G+ ipods.

Both work very well
