Anybody know a specific day and route this year which is going to be for 99 % overbooked on the KLM/ Air France network ?

Anybody managed already to book such flight with Platinum card holder guarantee for a free a seat ?

hoping for an op-up? assuming this could work - I'd look for the end of the UK school holidays ABZ-AMS

The evening flight CDG-AMS is always a total nightmare. You won't benefit much from your op-up though as they pack the ES cabin full with 3x3 pax...

Not sure what you mean by "guarantee for a free a seat"...

I do have successful experience forcing availability on a completely (over)booked KLM flight by presenting my Platinum card and paying for a full fare economy ticket 24 hours before departure. In this case I was also upgraded to business class when boarding.

I've had more success than not when up-opping on flights to Japan. I've never seen a KL flight to Japan that's not packed. Hopefully someone can back me up on this.

Their major holidays fall on Golden Week (last week of April/1st week May), and August for school holidays.

I've never been to Japan, but when taking evening flights I always see a lot of Japanese travelers at AMS, both for the KL and the JL flights.

Personally I wouldn't expect that many free C seats to be available for op-ups, as I figured there is sufficient premium demand for those routes. I guess I was wrong (and now have a reason to find business in Japan!) :D
