Travel Technology - converter question (recharge 220v appliance in 120 outlet??)

I was just in Thailand and bought one of those "tennis racket" mosquito killers. A really inexpensive gadget, but works like a dream and I'd hate to lose it. In the handle of the thing is a twist-out plug for recharging the batteries, although the plug looks like the standard American size (two identical flat prongs), the notation next to the plug states 220v 50 hz. Can I plug it directly into the American wall outlet in my home to recharge or do I have to find a converter ?
I know, not a big deal, but FT has been able to help me out before, so I thought I'd give it a shot here. Thanks.

Those things are also available at Bed Bath Beyond, I think for $15 for two. Can't answer you on the electrical question but... I wouldn't if it were me.

Unless it sez 240/120vac 50/50cy somewhere I would forget it. Most batteries are so cheap today I rarely do much D/C/AA/AAA recharging anymore.

110 will work(ish) but it is slow and may never charge completely.
The other way round is an exciting experience that will fry whatever you plug in (a 110 device in a 220 socket)
