S.P.A.M. - E-rewards lower redemption levels- reinstatement still possible?

I recently noticed that E-rewards introduced lower redemption levels ($10, $15, $20), mostly for magazines I have never heard of. I am coming to the end of my membership year with $13 in my account, but have been trying to save up for a $25 reward. (and the way things have been going lately, there is NO WAY I'll make it...I only have 1 earn now opportunity!!) In the past, e-rewards would apparently reinstate for some, but I am not clear if that is because there were no rewards available for the amount that was available. Do you think they still may reinstate if I complain?

I don't know, but I would say no! :( There is a redemption level lower than what you have. :(

A year ago, I had an account that wasn't getting any offers (for some reason) and the balance was something like $17 at the time. (The minimum reward level at that time was $25.) I contacted CS to say that I could not redeem $17, and I am to lose 75% of it. CS told me to write back after the reduction, and it will be reinstated.

I did - and it was! ^

CS also told me to start a new account with a new addy. I did, and rec'd many offers. The balance on the new acct at the end of the year was something like $140. The old acct (via some "earn now" offers) I got to $25.

Last year was when those "extension" offers went out. Guess which one got extended? And guess which one did not?

I redeemed the old account, and with the reduction, my balance is now $.08!

I think that redeeming miles/points/etc. for magazines is just about the biggest waste of points in the world (with the possible exception of discount certs which can also often be found free elsewhere).

Reason? A lot of magazine subscriptions can be had absolutely for free via various other promos. Magazines (especially those that carry advertising, which is nearly all of them) are always looking to increase their subscriber base (and hence boost their advertising rates) by giving subs away free. No reason to waste points on such a thing.

So the mag awards offered by erewards are pretty bogus. :(

Anyhow, back to the main topic, it's certainly worth a try to have them roll over your points. (The points expiration is one of the worst things about erewards :td: ; the other being the frequent non-posting of points. I only stick with them because I manage to score a few thousand HHonors points per year.)

Turns out not to matter. I got an email today saying that for a profile update, they will automatically roll over my rewards until 9/2007. Nice to know beforehand and not have to play the waiting game.

Take a look at the "Sticky" at the top of this forum. You may find something of interest, and for FREE! :D

I just redeemed $40 for 6 months of the wall street journal.
I anyway already maxed out the hilton/aa/co/dl miles options, so this made the most sense for me!
