there used to be a 4 P at 201 South McDowell St, Charlotte which was Uptown

Maybe it closed but even if it did why does the Press Release say the 1st 4P in North Carolina. It should be 4P Returns to NC

Edit below;
I just read the PR that the OP was kind enough to have given a link to.

Its NOT North Carolina but Kansas City that is getting the Hotel, plus its a Clarion hotel thats being reflagged as the 4P

Somethings fishy, indeed! It's not like they only screwed up the headline. The whole article changed! It appears that they have released a Charlotte press release prematurely and that the original PR is a sign of something that's in the works. Has this not been signed as a definite conversion yet? I just found a job placement add dated 8/17/2006 there: "The Morgan Hotel & Suites is converting to a Four Points By Sheraton and is seeking a full time Rooms Division Manager."

The location in Charlotte is...
315 East Woodlawn Road
Charlotte, North Carolina 28217

I'd very much welcome a Cat 1 or 2 Four Points near Charlotte's intersection of I-77 and the Billy Graham Pkwy. The Sheraton Charlotte Airport is on the complete opposite side of the airport from where I would like it when I want a cheap place to stay before an early morning flight from CLT.

craz is right, though. My first thought when I read the original PR was that they seemed to be overlooking that Charlotte had an uptown 4P until not too long ago.

Interesting that both the Kansas City property and this Charlotte property both claim a fairly large number of two-room suites. It's not clear whether these two properties are under the same owner since the complete accuracy of the original PR is unknown.

It will also make for an interesting clientele at a Starwood property. The Morgan Hotel is right next door to the Eagle, Charlotte's gay leather bar. The hotel has quite a reputation on weekends, especially when major events are planned for the CLT gay community.
