AA and UA have roundtrip awards (5000 miles). I would like to have a 3-leg trip. Is there any airline that I can get a 1-way award with?

Is there any airline that I can get a 1-way award with? honu Feb 16, 02, 9:41 pm Yes, both Aloha and Hawaiian offer this option, but it's 5000 miles for a one-way interisland trip (10000 for R/T). yesletsski Feb 17, 02, 6:07 am Check NWA. For 15,000 miles you can do your 3 leg trip. johnep1 Feb 17, 02, 12:47 pm Thank you for the replies. I think I will use 1 round trip open jaw 5000 mile award ticket, and then buy the 3rd leg. dingo Feb 17, 02, 1:43 pm Last time I went to Hawaii my wife and I went first class between Maui and Kauai for something like 150.00 each. Very short flight, but getting up in front and having a few mai tais while looking at the islands was worth the cash. rmccamy Feb 17, 02, 9:38 pm I tried sniffing around for a way to get the 1-way interisland with miles, but couldn't find a good way to do it (obviously, I was looking for something for 2500 miles, but couldn't find it). Hawaiian is offering a lot of routes for $49 one-way (check out their website...) so we bought the tickets. dingo Feb 18, 02, 7:13 am It's tough to pass up a $49.00 ticket! VolleyballFerd Feb 18, 02, 11:30 am If you check the Hawaiian website more closely, you'll see that those tickets are extremely limited. I did a couple of random searches for dates - on in Feb, one in late March - and there were only a couple of flights going to Maui that were eligible - and none returning. So it wouldn't even give me the promo fare for either. Total round trip fare was $153. Even with the $49.99, there are a bunch of taxes and surcharges. I did a Google search for "Interisland tickets" and it seems the current coupon price for unrestricted tickets is about $60. jwhite4 Feb 18, 02, 12:32 pm The 5000miles UA award is actually for 2 oneway interisland flights, it doesn't have to be for a round trip or even open-jaw trip. You are correct though is that there is no 2500miles for 1 oneway ticket award. I had no difficulty getting a suitable flight, but it is restricted-coach. I'm already making firm plans on two islands with hotel awards, I won't be making spontaneous interisland trips, so the restricted-coach thing doesn't bother me. Finally, I already have the annoying task of managing paper ALON and Marriott certificates. The last thing I want is flight coupons to keep track of. Flight Coupons are definitely the way to go if you want to be completely spontaneous and you don't have or don't want to use miles for an unlimited interisland pass. Beware that some vendors require you to buy 4 or more Coupons to get the lowest fare and/or will try to jam you with a hefty handling fee.
