Northwest WorldPerks (Discontinued Program) - One way awards possible?

I called today and they said that one way awards were not possible. Is there any way to do it?

Yes if you do it for the full price of a roundtrip ticket, but I believe that you have to book it as a RT and ditch the return....

I seem to remember they used to let you do one way, but I guess that has gone by the way side.
