WASHINGTON, Sept 13 (Reuters) - Boeing Co. (BA.N: Quote, Profile, Research) is weighing options for replacing its best-selling 737 and one scenario might include separate aircraft for two markets, the company's senior marketing official said on Wednesday.

When I read the thread title, I thought they were going to develop something with half the passenger capacity of a 737. :)

My first thought was the 757.

The MD95/717 was a good start.

Understanding a lack of orders killed it, I can't help but wonder of it was a lack of sales efforts?
