On September 10, 2006: Carmel hosts its "15th Annual Tomato Fest" at the Quail Lodge Resort. Highlights include samples of more than 350 tomato varieties from around the world, 100 tomato salsas and extravagant outdoor barbecue, with tomato dishes prepared by 60 of California's top chefs, 12:30–4:30 PM; tickets are $110 each and include food, wine and activities, with all proceeds going to charity; kids under 12 are admitted for free; for tickets, go to www.tomatofest.com/carmel_tomatofest.html
