Hello. I am considering purchasing a Spain Rail & Drive pass from RailEurope. The pass includes 3 days of rail travel and 2 days of Avis car rental.
If I purchase the pass using my DC, will my rental days be covered under the CDW waiver program? My understanding of how the Rail & Drive works is that I'll be issued vouchers for the rental car days, so I'm guessing I won't have a direct charge from Avis.
The Diners Club T&Cs say "If a rental agency promotion/discount
of any kind is initially applied toward payment of the rental vehicle,
at least one (1) day of rental must be billed to your Diners Club
Charge Card." I'm not sure whether this paragraph applies to my situation.
Can anyone say with certainty whether I'll need to go ahead and purchase CDW from the rental agency, or if I'll be covered by my DC card?
