I'm traveling to Anaheim in early Dec. for a conference. The HQ hotel is the Anaheim Hilton, however based on previous reviews, I'm trying to avoid staying there.
Both the Doubletree Guest Suites and Embassy Suites Anaheim South have received great reviews on TripAdvisor. However, I would apprciate any FT advice. Any info on how they treat Diamonds would be great as well. I'm not worried about location and proximety to the conv. center.
Thanks!

The Doubletree Guest Suites Resort & Convention center is very good and brand new.
It is located at 2085 S. Harbor Blvd
There is a perfectly fine group of team members in house reasonably happy to please.
Also a complimentary business center .The brand standard is very good there.
The older Doubletree is to be avoided at all costs. They have the most arrogant management and clueless staff I have seen in recent times.
When I asked as a Diamond member to simply be upgraded in advance day before arrival from a two bedded room to a king bedded room (a very minor request) I was scolded that they are for customers who pay extra for a king
Mind you I have seen Priceline customers that have been treated better then that. I was reprimanded you get what you pay for here.
I shudder to think if I asked for something major.....sheesh
At the newer Doubletree property I have been simply upgraded to a suite both times without ever asking for an upgrade.
Talk about two different cultures yet the same brands
The new resort had micros and fridges in the room too ^
I can not compare the Embassy to the Doubletrees in Anaheim as I have no prior experience there
Have a great stay and go for the cookies and their good beds ;)

I have stayed at both and I prefer the ES for both its location relative the convention center (its a short walk vs a cab/shuttle bus ride) and the treatment I got as a Diamond. DT is a nice property but i got a bit of an attitude from the FD staff.
