Hilton HHonors - Children in exec lounges in Europe in general and Paris in particular

I don't want to start any big debate, like the ones about whether kids should be allowed in business class on the airlines, but I did want to know if anyone knows what the policies are at the exec lounges in Europe. I am particularly interested in the one in Paris. We travel with our now 7 year old son and have not had a problem at JW Marriotts club level (at breakfast or cocktail hours) but we have not stayed at Hilton with an exec lounge while traveling with him. I noticed for example the Conrad Bangkok specifically does not allow children. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

As far as Hilton goes their appears to be no restrictions regarding children in the lounges throughout Europe and the Caribbean other than they should be accompannied by the adult thats a member.
As far as the Paris Hilton ( one by the Eiffel Tower) I can recall on a number of ocasions familes of four or more in the lounge but primarily on weekends.
No comment on their behaviour but I did have to ask an attendent to remind siblings that the computers are not for their sole use, recently at the Prague Hilton and also at the Paris Hilton although in the latter case the Pcs were actually situated in the business center which was in the basement.

Some European hotels do have restrictions on children. I can't recall all of the details but I have witnessed some very hostile exchanges between guests with children and the lounge staff. The most recent that comes to mind in the Hilton Eliat Queen of Sheba which places a complete ban on any kids under 12.
I have also seen a situation where kids are welcome at breakfast but not after 5:00 pm
I would suggest that the OP phone the hotel and ask

I had the same issue in the Eilat Queen of Sheba. Bit of a shame.
Rome Cavalieri and Sorrento are definitly fine with kids.

Yes unfortunately they are - and the Cavalieri doesn't even mind unsupervised children

London:
Have "experienced," unruly kids at the flagship, 5* Park Lane Hilton where we had to manoeuvre round pushchairs - honest! Also recently we stayed at the Waldorf in which one family left a table in the Exec lounge looking like a Macdonalds. Some UK Hiltons are talking about a curfew for under 12's at say 9pm. @:-)

I'm so sorry you had to maneuver around pushchairs. Do you also resent folks in wheelchairs?

Last October, we stayed three nights(Buda Hilton) and there were European kids(under 10) in the Lounge. No see no problem with children at any time. I send all my travel to one program to enjoy the benefits and my family should too. The european kids during our stay were well behaved and could teach my kids some manners.

We took our then 8 year old daughter to Paris Hilton for 2 weeks a few years ago. She loved the lending library and checked out Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone (vs the US version) from the lounge. The staff and other guests were exceedingly kind and it is a most pleasant memory from the trip.

I've taken my children to the Paris Hilton (by the Eiffel Tower) and they enjoyed the executive lounge - no problem. While other posters here have mentioned some obvious exceptions, many of us have travelled with our children regularly and from a young age - mine were taught early on the expectations in executive lounges, airport lounges, business class, etc.
I remind them that it's only because of their excellent behavior that we get to continue to visit those places.

I've never had a problem with attended / behaved children in lounges (airport or hotel). Its the unattended, running around, loud, putting their hands over all of the food kids that I think people have a problem with.
Fortunately this seems to be a smaller percentage, but I think its so annoying that it sticks out in people's minds as children in general.
I also wish I would have gotten to go to Europe and other places as a kid :) Grandma's house was our typical vacation. Perhaps that is why I travel a bunch today!
