Hello,
This is my first post here and I wanted to let everyone know that the Hilton Carillon Park St. Petersburg Florida just opened and it is FABULOUS!!! I just stayed there for the past 4 nights and it is state of the art. They have flat screen televisions with approximately 80 cable channels, nice pool, and wonderful staff. I would recommend anyone visiting Tampa/ St. Pete area to stay at this hotel.
The only problem is when you stay at a hotel like this, you expect all Hilton properties to be just as good and unfortunately they are not.
Take Care,

I stopped by there recently and had a drink in the bar and the place seemed pretty nice.
Was checking the rates for Fri/Sat this and next week and found the Standard room rate was only $100 pretty good deal I think.

Diamond members get the free breakfast coupons and a nice room upgrade. I was in room 700 which is a corner king bed. Those rooms have a big balcony overlooking the lake - It was very nice!!!!
They have an official grand opening September 14th so the rates might be higher after that but as of now -$100 for a room is a GREAT DEAL.
In fact, I could have gotten a mini suite upgrade but chose the corner room because the TV is directly in front of the bed in those rooms. In the mini suites you can't lay in the bed and see the TV right in front - it's on the side at some strange angle. Anyways, it's just my preference.
My recommendation: Try the Hotel!!!!

I think things must have stayed at this property with regard to Diamonds. Checked in at the weekend and the hotel was dead! We were given an "upgraded" room which turned out to be a very small room overlooking the lake. The rooms are pretty nice with lots of wood but showing their age already. The pool is a joke - it's tiny and when we were there they have 4 sun beds available.
When we checked in we were told that the lounge was closed at the weekend (didn't know there was a lounge!) but were given breakfast vouchers. The breakfast spread was probably the best I have seen at any Hilton in the US with a wide range of hot dishes, cereals, pastries, fruit, etc
Overall this hotel didn't do it for me which is partly my fault as I had assumed it was nearer to St Petes but it's really in the middle of nowhere

I agree about the breakfast. Only place I have had lobster hashbrowns! It was as if they were trying to break a record with how many dishes they could present. Also they had some of the best french toast. And even made my kids eggs in a nest!

I've stayed at this hotel many of times on business and I can honestly say this is one of (if not the) BEST Hilton I have ever stayed in. I never failed to get a Diamond VIP Upgrade which was a two room suite. The only complaint I have is the lack of Valet Parking because the parking lot is quite a hike from the front door.

On the weekends many just park on the side. And I agree a great hotel.

I guess a "hike" must mean something else in the US - just checked my photos of the front of the hotel and the front of the hotel was about 30 yards from where my car was parked in the parking lot!
The hotel was so quiet I could have easily parked outside the front, which other people had done.
Not sure why my Diamond status got me a lousy room
