Does anybody have any updated information about the HGI in Albuquerque near the airport. My wife and I will be attending a conference in Albuquerque in October. I have reservations at the two Homewood Suites in town and the HGI Airport. I'm leaning towards cancelling all the reservations except for the HGI. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Also, I'd like to email the manager of the HGI. Does anybody know his name of have his email address?

Personally I would stay at the Homewood Suites just off Louisiana Blvd. I find the ABQ HGI is usually overpriced, and I have not styaed there is almost a year.

Despite the previous post, I found the HGI weekend rates to be quite reasonable and the property to be comfortable. There are a couple of casual restaurants within short walking distance, but not much other retail. It is in a commercial district right outside the airport entrance. The HGI is very convenient to the airport but not very convenient to downtown. You'll need to rent a car or make other arrangements like cabs to get to your event.

I have been in Albuquerque Monday to Thursday every week for a few months now.
I have always stayed at the (brand new) Embassy Suites, and it is wonderful!
We have a corporate rate of $99/night including HSI.
The only thing I don't agree with is the room service. Very limited menu and the staff lacks some cooking ability. I have ordered only twice...eaten out the rest of the time.

Bear in mind that the manager gives Jacuzzi rooms as "upgrades" to fulfill the HHonors elite requirement.

Good tip.

I posted that as a warning to those who think they might get a suite. I didn't consider it much of an "upgrade" and asked for the points instead. Request denied as my ability to be pummeled by those water jets in [the tub of an otherwise] regular sized room was my elite benefit.

I've stayed at the ABQ HGI 3 times in the last 8 months. I've enjoyed my stay there every time. The front desk staff was helpful 24/7.
I have two one-night stays coming up at this property within the next couple of weeks -- would appreciate any recent feedback, advice on rooms to seek/avoid, etc. Thanks.
