I am doing JFK-HKG in the next couple of weeks on CX. Is the BA First Lounge nicer than CX? While it should be - my experience in CX lounges is the best - at least in HK and at LHR, and BA can be impersonal. Any experiences are appreciated.

There is no CX lounge at JFK, they use the BA lounge in Terminal 7.

Well that simplifies things greatly, thanks for the very quick response ijgordon......www.cathaypacific.com was a bit ambiguous on this, the cut/paste from the site (below) made it sound like there was a separate Cathay First Class Lounge, your answer is definitive.
Cathay Pacific Lounge First Class Lounge (Airside; next to British Airways Terraces Lounge), British Airways Terraces Lounge for Business Class passengers. After passing Security, take the excalator and make an immediate left turn. Take the escalator again and go up, then walk straight into the lounges greeting area.

Yes, the British Airways lounge has two separate sections -- Business Class (which I guess BA brands as "Terraces") and First Class, but they are both BA lounges. Terraces is to the right of the lounge reception/greeting, F is to the left. Although, any BA First passengers will actually be using the Concorde Lounge, so the BA F lounge is really just for BA Gold / OneWorld Emerald and CX/QF F passengers -- as such the F lounge isn't all that special. (Unlike at LHR, QF F pax don't get access to the Concorde Room at JFK)
Still, the F lounge is nice, with a decent selection of packaged snacks and finger sandwiches, and a self-serve bar. I think the wine selections are the same as at Terraces, but maybe one or two extra choices, and I think the champagne is different. Terraces is a much bigger lounge, and usually more crowded. I think they actually have a bigger selection of nibbles there, but you're certainly free to wander over there from the F side, grab some food and bring it back to the F lounge.
If you are flying in F on CX, then you can use the BA Pre-flight dining, which is also on the Terraces side. They offer a full hot/cold dinner buffet, and its not bad. If you are on CX889 which departs during the summer at 11pm, it may not be a bad idea to eat there, have the caviar on board, and then go to sleep. Some might think that's blasphemy, though. :)
