The catch, you got to pay the 3% balance transfer fee with no cap. For $10,000 thats $300 or $.03/mile, hardly a deal. SUNLOVER23 Aug 9, 06, 2:28 pm I did some checking and you get a 15,000 sign up points and the transfer is up to 10,000.00 for 10,000 points if you transfer in the first 30 day at a cap of $50.00. And 0 percent intrest for 6 months. Not to bad. But I am just learning this game. By the way, although it is unusual to earn miles on BTs, it is not unheard of. I believe a Chase UA card and the BofA USAirways card also have offered miles for BTs in the past. Raffles Aug 11, 06, 4:27 am The BMI credit card in the UK recently offered miles on balance transfers to some targetted cardholders - with a £75 ($140) capped fee. Some people managed to earn over 250,000 miles in the few weeks that the promo was on, by transferring money to their bank account, transferring it back to their card, transferring it out again etc. crhptic Aug 11, 06, 8:43 am The Frontier card (also from Juniper) offers this, too. Be careful, however, because I got burned on the offer. The 30 day period starts when you are APPROVED for the card - not when you receive it, or when it is activated, or when you first use it. In my case, the date I was approved was 9 days before I was able to use the card. So you really have to do the balance transfer in about the first 21 days, not 30. But if you can pull that off, it should work fine. vickh Aug 13, 06, 1:20 pm can you a balance transfer into your visa check card to your checking account? crhptic Aug 13, 06, 7:05 pm I doubt it, because your check card does not have a billing address. However, I suspect you owe "vickh and associates" $10K for consulting services, and you would like to do a balance transfer on that. Same result. |
