Starwood Preferred Guest - How do you requalify after comped Plat?

Recently been comped Plat and it's good till 2008. In order to requalify (Add 12 months) do I have to have 50 nights in the 2007 calendar year, or could I have 50 nights in this calendar year and extend Plat to 2009?

I'm guessing my nights wont count toward extending my Plat until 2007. Is this right?

Try 4c2. One need those 50 nights/25 stays in 2007 to qualify for 2008.

So I guess I'll finish up re-qualifying for Hilton Diamond (except for my three stays to get my 10K bonus. If I can get most of my re-qual nights for Hilton in by the end of the year I can then try and focus on SPG the beginning of next year.

I hit Diamond in April or May, but continued to use Hilton until recently. I now switched to SPG. I will test out SPG hotels a few times, but will hit Platinum next year.
