Budget Travel - SFO or Oak to JFK or Newark non-stop?

Any tips on a cheap flight Aug 30 or 31 to Sept 10 from SFO or Oak to JFK or Newark non-stop?

I've searched the internet like crazy. The Jet Blue deal from Oak to JFK for $358 is the best I've found. All others are $450.

I also need to fly my travel partner Aug 30 or 31 on the same flight as me but returning Sept 5 or 6 JFK or Newark to SFO or San Jose.

Unless you try one of those bidding sites, I think you're going to find the best fares on the commercial websites. If ISP isn't an issue, don't forget to check Southwest. You might also want to check PHL on Southwest too--you can take a train up to NYC.

CO has SFO-EWR nonstops out on Aug 30 back on Sep 10 for $308. Returning on the 6th, the UA nonstops are $373. CO via CLT is only $266. There are many other options. http://matrix.itasoftware.com/ is the best search engine (it's what's underneath most of the others). http://www.kayak.com (powered by ita) is a bit easier to use.

As this is a fare request, I am going to go ahead and close this thread.

As per This Sticky (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=565617), fare requests are not allowed in BT.
