I am new to Smart Phones and am researching which one to buy. I travel to Europe 2-3 times per year for about 10 days each time. I've been lugging a laptop for the past 10-12 years and as light as they have become, it is still more weight and bulk as I want.
I've read a number of posts that talk about purchasing multiple SIM cards - could someone give this neophyte an indication of how that process works? Do you replace the SIM card each time you change countries/services, and give the service a credit card to bill whatever activity?
I am looking for an all in one solution, SmartPhone and service or services that will allow me to make calls, download my email from a POP server, possibly do some very light computing/word processing, as well as being able to install TomTom navigation software (it doesn’t need to be GPS capable as TomTom sell a small receiver. TomTom is compatible with Palm and HP/IPAQ. It does not list Blackberry on its website, so I am guessing it is not compatible.
At any rate I was referred to this forum as the definitive "expert" forum for this sort of technology. Any help will be appreciated.
