This was a pre-registered promotion. They don't get much more targeted than that. ;)

The only other pertinent detail was the participating property list as not all properties in this region participate in it.

Yes that sounds(exactly like it-but I just received it yesterday so I think the dates might be different.
So does this mean I am preregistered?I know there was a list of properties that participated how do I find out???

Don't know of any other one that was released recently. Sometimes if someone was pre-registered but they haven't responded we will send another notice, so that might explain the timing of the email.

Only way to know for sure is to send me your SPG account number and let me take a look.

The participating properties are listed on this end by their PIN number, which would mean next to nothing to most folks. FlyMan might be the exception. ;) I don't want to have to look up a list of 20 properties for the wrong promotion if this isn't it, so let's get the promotion nailed down first.

Hey William,
What exactly does a "pre-registered" promotion mean?

Hey William,
What exactly does a "pre-registered" promotion mean?

My understanding it's a targetted promo, but there are no tools required to be registered. It has its own advantages and disadvantages, like if you didn't receive the promo mailer, you could be really surprised with extra 6000 points on your account if your stay was right during the promo dates.

However, since I would assume that I'd never receive this promo mailer, since I'm in Asia and they believe that only US folks would be keen to use the promo, I would not be able to plan a trip to see my customers in SoCal an earn extra 6000 points or so.
