I don't want to chastise someone's first post, but can you share with us some of your research?
The FT community generally asks that you do some research, and will try to help you build on that. General questions like the one you posted often go without too many responses.
And Arizona is a VERY big state ! Perhaps you are only going to the Grand Canyon, but the Pipe Organ Cactus Monument (IIRC) south of Phoenix is also pretty cool, as is popping across the border to Mexico. So that will affect any advice.

The definition of a "cheap" airfare will depend in part on where you are flying from and how flexible you can be on your travel days (for example, sometimes the lowest fares require Tuesday or Wednesday travel). Are you locked into a single airport or do you have multiple choices?
You probably will not find any good deal fares for next April this far out. In general, spring fare sales will not be published until after the first of the year. But keep an eye on fares because you just never know when a fare will show up. Also remember that spring break occurs at that time of year and "cheap" deals are more scarce for spring break travel.

I grew up there...so April is not a bad time to go.
Best bets are Southwest and US Air as they have hubs there,
In Phx area, Fiesta Inn in Tempe is a good find. Everyone I have recommended it for loved it.
