Starwood Preferred Guest - Upgrades no longer viewable on SPG.com?
Is it a web site problem or did Starwood enhence SPG.com to remove the ability to view room types?
It used to be possible to view the room type and see if you are upgraded prior to arrival. Now, all reservations show a generic
1 Room, 1 Adult per room
Room Features:
Room Features are always blank.
Perhaps it is in response to the complaints from some Plats who didn't receive the upgraded room shown on the SPG.com.

My stay for this weekend's SeaDoo at the Westin shows a blank room type too. But my stay at the Sheraton Our Lucaya at the end of the month shows the full room description. I've no idea why but maybe it goes blank at some point right before arrival - one week ahead maybe?

Have you looked lower down on the page?
While the "Room Features" section of all of my reservations are now blank (as is the "Room Amenities" section).......the "Room Description" still lists some info such as room size, view and/or a few other details that can be used to tell what class of room has been assigned.
Personally, I think that online details of a reservation should show EVERYTHING......especially the room/bedding type that was booked/has been assigned.

I noticed this too for a stay for next week. It was there one day, gone the next.
I thought it was because I had been downgraded.
"Sir, I'm sorry, but the only room we have left is a themed room. We call it the 'boiler room'. It's very exotic."
(sorry for the super obscure reference, thought it was mildly appropriate)

My res from last weekend showed the upgrade information under room type (although I wouldn't say it seemed all that accurate in size so the type of upgrade may easily have changed between the time I left home that morning & checked in at my destination).
Room detail description and price has been missing from the "Printable Version" link for quite some time now. :(

Yes, what's with PRICE missing? I now have to remember to print from the screen before the "printable" screen in order to have a paper copy to take with me. Dropping this makes no sense to me at all.

This has frustrated me for quite a while. Several times, I printed the wrong version, and when I got to the hotel, I had no idea what I was supposed to pay.
Lurker....or Ms Lurker -- this should not be difficult to fix?

I should clarify -- I saw my information re upgrade when I went into the individual res & pulled the details on room/rate description.
FWIW, I save the confirmation email I'm sent and take that with me for checkin in case I can't pull up the reservation off spg.com (which is admittedly annoying when it happens)

Obviously it is, as requests have been made previously to return it and it hasn't happened yet. Could be a matter of priorities or it could be they don't intend to return it.
Nonetheless, inquiries are under way regarding the recent disappearance of the Room Features information...even though this information is available further down the page under the room description. ;)

Good news is, is that the rate has reappeared.

You'll have to click the 'Get complete details about this rate, taxes...' link in the Rate Information box.

Nope. Blank on that screen too.
Oh well. I know it'll be non-smoking and I'm sure it will have a bed. Don't really care about anything else as I'll be in the room for all of like 6 hours.

Curious...when I log on to spg.com as you and access the "get more..." screen for the first reservation, I can see this further down the page:
"Room description A Luxurious Suite With A Sophisticated Decor And Memorable D Esign. Combined With Elegant Lounge And Work Area."
Typo, notwithstanding. ;)

I get the same William for reservations that are not in the near future. But for all reservations inside of a week, the room description is totally blank. That's after clicking all the way thru.

I'm going to go ahead and pass the "big ball of blame" to myself. Your all right, it's there, buried between the rate plan and the room description. I hadn't bothered to look in that much detail as the other "room features" are blank.
Lurker, since you logged in as me, any idea why my infamous Sheraton World stay is still showing up under check reservations spot even though its in the past and I've had several stays at other properties since then? Does it stay there just to haunt me? Its official, everything related to that stay was a mess.
Gracias and good luck with the surgery! Well you're gone I'll be sure to post many, many more employee only secrets on this board to keep Ms. Lurker on her toes! :D

No problem. You are right that you cannot see bedding or smoking preferences there though. ;)
You will be able to see any reservation made online that hasn't been tampered with by the Customer Contact Center or the hotel for 45 days past the check-in date, then it is moved to an archive. Not sure if it becomes non-viewable at that point, but probably so. My best guess is that sometimes this is helpful if there were questions raised after the stay was completed. Sorry if it is an ugly reminder instead. ;)
You guys be good to Valerie. She's a real sweetheart and really wants to do well here on your behalf in my absence. I'm thinking she will do just fine, personally, but she is no doubt a bit nervous to be in the limelight for a change. :)

My mistake. I think I can clear this up. If I go straight from the home page of spg.com and click on "View Details" on the reservation (this reservation is on the home page) I get a confirmation page (after entering password) that gives me NO room description but all other relevant details.
If I start over and go to "my account" first and then click on "get complete details", I get the same confirmation page with the room description now included. Hope that helps.
