I recently purchased a MPC membership for my dad who is about to embark on a extensive trip to Asia using the CX All Asia Pass.

The new green membership card and membership Guide has arrived and it the benefits of greem membership "at a glance" are:

1. Flight reservations via a dedicated Club Service Line;
2. Designated Club check-in counter
3. Excess baggage allowance redemption
4. Personalised baggage name tags
5. Lounge access redemption (my emphasis)

The Membership Guide containes and extensive/exhaustive explanation of the lounge benefits for Silver, Gold and Diamond members, but not a word on the meaning of "Lounge access redemption" (or for that matter "Excess baggage redemption" ).

I would welcome any help with an explanation of this "Lounge access redemption" benefit.

You may redeem using miles in your account (but if you just joined with no miles, then no go), a pass for ONE entry into the Business Class lounge. I believe it's 7,000 miles per pass. But I also believe that you have to have elite MPC status before you can do that.

Only DM members may purchase a pass for the CX First Class lounge and that's 10,000 miles.

- 7000 miles per entry at lounges in HKIA only
- excess baggage allowance is depends on the distance u fly, purchasing by miles in a per block of 10kg basis

further information can be found at www.asiamiles.com

Is it not the case that the All Asia Pass is on a non-mileage-earning fare basis? In that case I can see little benefit of an MPC membership to be honest...

The "All Asia PASSPORT" from Australia is different from the "All Asia Pass" from North America in that it allows accrual of asiamiles miles.
