Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - LAX to Get New Flight #s

Just got an email from my brother where SQ sent a notification email to his TA office that effective Oct 31, SIN-TPE-LAX will transform from SQ30 to SQ28, LAX-TPE-SIN will transform from SQ29 to SQ27. SIN-LAX nonstop will be converted from SQ20 to SQ38 while the LAX-SIN nonstop will be converted from SQ19 to SQ37. SIN-NRT-LAX-NRT-SIN will remain the same at SQ12/11.

Seems like SQ is changing a lot of the flight numbers (although it doesn't seem too drastic). Perhaps this is in time for the introduction of the A380 and 773ER?
