Hi. Has anyone stayed here recently and can give a report on the property. Specifically was it clean and well maintained? This is the ES south of the airport, not the one north on 101. Thanks in advance for any advice.

EWR-COflyer May 17, 02, 9:14 am ES - Burlingame, CA I assume... I just stayed there a few weeks ago. Nice property, right on the water across from SFO. Try to get a room on the ninth floor with a view on the water... you can watch the a/c on approach from your room... had a tropical theme with "koi" (big goldfish/carp) simming in the atrium. Evening reception/breakfast were normal for an ES property... Seemed to have a nice workout room... full service restaraunt on site, "Steamers"... menu seemed a bit pricey, but there was a bar that served a lighter menu... good selection of beers on tap in the bar... there's nothing else locally to eat... re: airport shuttle... runs every 20-minutes from the hotel, 15, 35 and 55 mins after the hour... seems to depart the airport 00, 20, 40... catch the shuttle at the "hotel shuttle" area curbside at SFO at the outer roadway... very nice running path / park adjacent to the property, along side the water... gift shop on site for sundries... anything specific you're looking for? Efrem May 17, 02, 11:11 am I've stayed there several times and had a few smallish (up to about ten people) company meetings. I agree with what EWR-COflyer (isn't that handle redundant? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ) said. If you want to run more than a couple of miles, don't go north on the path by the bay; you can't get past the airport. Head south. You'll have to do some street stretches between path segments, but at least you can keep going. When you board the shuttle bus, make sure it's for Embassy Suites south. There's also an Embassy Suites North (which I have also stayed at, and wasn't as happy with). People go to the wrong one all the time. It can take most of an hour to get back to the airport and take the right shuttle bus. gamble0813 May 20, 02, 8:56 am Thanks very much for the reports. Just what I was looking for. And, good advice on the shuttle! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif B747-437B May 20, 02, 9:24 am I stayed there a couple months ago and was pleased by the service. All benefits, including the "Embassy Touch", were delivered as promised without asking and the staff were very friendly. The only problem was that the airport shuttle runs EVERY HOUR on weekends, so if you miss one you are stuck for a while. wbl-mn-flyer Jul 26, 06, 9:42 pm planning a stay at this property next week, would like any comments about the place itself, the area, nice places to eat and things to do that are close, etc... my customer is about 9 miles away, in foster city/san mateo area. not sure what sort of a drive I will be looking at in the morning and at night, but I figure I've got time to kill so no big deal as far as that goes. This one was about $50 a night cheaper than the ES in burlingame and I really do prefer a full service and all suites type property vs. the hampton inn/courtyard/etc type experience. thanks! Never stayed there but the Double Tree next door is great. Always get upgraded to a Exc floor...infact, if you type in this code: 0002638960 you will get a cheaper rate then normal. Always stay at the Double Tree when flying home out of SFO. Cheers PHLGovFlyer Jul 27, 06, 7:06 am Stayed there over a long weekend summer 2005. As a diamond I got upgraded to a corner room on the top floor (the ones with the long arc of windows – very nice for an ES room). I was on a fairly inexpensive rate IIRC. Fairly typical ES otherwise. jabez Jul 27, 06, 7:11 am Actually, the ES the above poster mentioned is not next to the Doubletree. That's a different property. I've stayed at all of them and the South San Francisco one may be my favorite. I get upgraded to a nice corner romom and the staff is also top-notch. Not too much near-by, but you can drive to a number of nice restaurants in just a couple minutes. |
