Travel Technology - Renaming your Skype account...?

A little intro first:

I opened a Skype account a while back after reading about it on the forums, picked a "cute" name, found a Skype-in number that I like a lot (spells my name!). Works great.

Now we are starting to use Skype for work-related reasons, and my "cute" skype name isn't really appropriate for work, so I created another account with a more proper "business" type skype name. So now I have two accounts, personal, and business.

The only reason I'm keeping the personal account around is because I have a great SkypeIn number that I've been giving out for some time now. I don't care about the $11 balance I have in the account, what I want to do is somehow move that SkypeIn number to my newer non-cutely-named account and just abandon the old account.

I sent a couple messages to Skype asking about how to do it and they kept replying back that they can't transfer funds balances from one account to another, in which case I again replied that I just want the SkypeIn number re-pointed, not the balance transferred, but it seems to get lost in translation.

Anyone know if moving a number from one Skype account to another is possible? The SkypeIn number expires in another 60 days, and I was thinking that I could let it lapse and then just fetch it for the new account when it becomes available but I'm not so sure how quickly they get released back into the "available" skypein number pool. Any ideas?

Anyone have any thoughts in general?

I recall see a post once that said you couldn't transfer numbers between Skype accounts - I'm not sure.

Would be really great if you could do that. I created a skype acct with my wife and have skypein, but it would be great if I could change the account to me only.

Pray tell your cutesy user name, let us decide whether it's inappropriate.

Ha! No it was just the same name as my username here in the forums, where my work related name was my actual name.

So after looking through all the Skype forums, it looks like if you let your number lapse, it still is "yours" for another 90 days past that before it gets released to the wild, although it isn't super-clear that it gets immediately released.
