American Express Membership Rewards - 2 for 1 on Lufthansa

What fare are tickets purchased thru 2 for 1 on Lufthansa booked into, in Business class?

One is obviously full fare, but the other?

Its fares starting with C (ie CR, CRT) booked into D class

A few years ago, Lufthansa regularly posted miles to my United account for the 2-for-1 companion tickets (even though these tickets are technically not eligible to earn mileage). Has anyone had any experiences recently, either of miles posting to UA accounts or not? (Private replies would be welcomed, too)

I regularly fly LH on the Amex 2for1 with business associates. Since I am the cardhold I naturally get the miles credited to my account for the paid ticket. Normally the "free" ticket doesn't get miles but I have heard of a coworker faxing the ticket stubs to another *A member airline and get the miles credited. Probably just luck when they got the miles but it worked for them.

Wife and I flew IAD-VIE-BOM on J using the 2for1 promo paid $6500 for both tickets. Gave our UA FF# while checking in at the Austrian Desk at IAD and both got the miles incl the J class 50% bonus.

The flight sucked though -- food was not to either of our liking :td: and the equipment on VIE-BOM sector was a 767 with horrible seats that wouldn't recline at all.:td:

One plus: the flight attendants were the sweetest and kindest ladies. I have flown all around the world never met such sweet FA's
