Well, after a lot of thought i've decided to spend a week in Stockholm, probably in August.
Having a free ticket in the portuguese airlines every year :D my problem is the accomodation and dailly things like food, transport, etc. in this very expensive city.
Can anyone give me a tip about a central accomodation and cheap places to go there?..thanks ! ;)

How budget?
If it's extreme backpacker budget then there's a hostel boat called Gustav af Klimt in central Stockholm. It's next to the ferry station and about 10mins walk to Gamla Stan.

Stockholm is a very walkable city if the weather is nice. Many museums are free. Hostels arenīt really more expensive than elsewhere in Western Europe. Nor is food from supermarkets. Iīd say about the same as in France or UK. Iīve never quite understood this nonsense about Sweden being expensive. It simply isnīt anymore. During the past few years Iīve been way more shocked about the prices in Athens, Barcelona and Naples than the prices in Scandinavia. Sure, some things are expensive but you can easily get past those problems by adapting your spending habits.

Stockholm is really a great city, though I did find it more expensive (esp. the food) than central or Southern Europe. I stayed at the HI Skeppsholmen hostel (http://www.svenskaturistforeningen.se/templates/hostel.aspx?id=1987&source=search), which was very comfortable and reasonably priced. This was in 2004, so things may have changed since then.

A lot of students rent out their apartment, room or dorm rooms during part of the year, including especially summer. The prices for such are pretty good but the accomodations can vary from basic to rather nice; location varies too, but I have seen some that were very well-situated for travel by T-bana/subway or even just a walk to more central parts. Hotel prices in Stockholm on the weekend and during the summer are generally very good/reasonable and only with restaurants, drinks and other such entertainment is value not necessarily stellar -- although not bad either compared to some places I go too.
