Budget Travel - Europe-Canada/USA - Cheap Fare needed

I need to fly from Europe to North America.

Perfect routing: Zurich - Toronto
Alternative routings: Europe (e.g. Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain) to North America (e.g. Toronto, Montreal, New York, Chicago, Boston etc)

Perfect date: Oct 2-5
Alternative dates: end Sept - Oct 5

Perfect price: 100 EUR
Alternative prices: ???

The only real alternative that I found was on Condor (http://www.fliegenpreise.de) from Frankfurt to Orlando on Sept 22 for 99 EUR. The bad surprise: When I was ready to push the "buy" button, the prices disappeared and sky-rocked.

Do you FT folks know any "almost 100 EUR" one way flights from Europe to North America? Are there any low-cost carriers?

PS: This is not a fare request because this seems to be forbidden to post here. I am asking for advice on finding an airline offering cheap flights.

It is almost impossible to find a fare that cheap.

Canadian discounters flying to/from Europe include

Zoom
Canadian Affair
Thomas Cook
Condor
Sunquest

Anything other than those folks (as far as I know), would be a full-service carrier and you would pay way more $$.

Depending on which carrier you select, the taxes/surcharges/related fees can total > 100 EUR alone! You may want to revise your expectations with regards to price.

Check for flights to North America from Ireland (e.g. DUB). Cheapest one way fares I've ever seen have been from here - approx $140 plus taxes. I think it was through AA.

Also check out sites like lastminute.com who sometimes sell package deals at ridiculously cheap prices, with hotel/car hire thrown in for less than the pice of a conventional airfare (although there aren't as many of these deals as when the company was under the original management). Careful, as prices are often based on double occupancy should you find a sweet deal.

It's often cheaper to get a cheap return fare than a one way ticket. I've had much more success getting incredibly cheap fares in Japan than I have in Europe (outside of the amazing deals you can pick up at FT ;) ). YMMV.

EDIT: this subject (albeit from US to Europe) is being discussed in this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?p=6119798#post6119798 Cheapest o/w fare thrown out so far is $290 all in for October.

With Condor, you may have stumbled onto the Eintagsfliegen (one-day flies!!) for €99. The bargains come up about every 4-6 weeks and the few seats offered are usually sold out very fast. We often get our Germany-Tenerife flights for €29 one way, including all fees.

Not in the same category of cheap, but relatively inexpensive for one-ways is LTU from DUS or MUC for various airports in the U.S. and Canada. We've booked DUS-MIA for March (for a transatlantic cruise back to Europe) for €256 including all taxes and fees.

On that very same forum, there is a thread about LCC's...

You might find alternatives there, in post #2

Thanx for the inpurts. I finally found AirBerlin for 29 EUR to Dusseldorf and LTU for 200 EUR to Toronto. Not too cheap but ok
