I have to go up there next week for two days. Any suggestions for things to do? Places to eat? I got work for most of the day but will have plenty of free time at night.

In post #22 of the thread linked below, allanf recommended two restaurants:

Strongly consider Kroll's restaurant for good comfort food. Sorry, not sure of the location. Also Chili John's (in Lambeau) has been cited as a fave by John Madden. Green Bay is a fun place to visit, very nice people.

Well if you hate the packers, then Lambeau Field probably won't interest you. Otherwise their museum is a neat place to visit.

How could anyone hate the Packers??!! Unfortunately, especially to my Packer-obsessed husband, there's not a whole lot of threat to anyone else's favorite team... :(

Resurrecting this thread on my new favorite American city. ;) Sorry to be ignorant, but when does the NFL season begin and end? Any worthwhile Chinese or other Asian restaurants where one could invite local partners for dinner?

The season begins in September and continues through December. Playoffs are in January and February, though the Green Bay team is struggling this year and as such playoffs may be unlikely. Note that tickets are in high demand, so you should definitely arrange in advance through a broker or other third party.

Thanks a lot for the information. I hope our new partners feel enough local pride to organize a game or two for us. I'm quite sure they have season tickets anyway. ^

If you're into brew pubs, there's a great one in the old train station ---

If they don't have season tickets they are awfully tough to get, but if you are lucky enough to go to a game go early and walk around the parking lot some of the tailgate spreads are amazing... and as mentioned by others the people are very friendly.

:D If you do manage to get tickets to a home game, arrive at Lambeau about 2 to 3 hours before game time. Walking around the Lambeau Field area can also be known as Tailgating - just introduce yourself as out-of towners at a couple of the larger tables or gatherings you find and I predict some of "local people" (which means anyone who lives in the state of Wisconsin) will invite you to join them for beer and brats, Green Bay fans are the friendliest people in the world.

The "old train station" is the Titletown Brewery, located on the Fox River. Great pub food. The restaurants in the Lambeau Field area are also inthe same category, check out Stadium View, Anduzzi's, Brett Farve's Steak House, and The Bar - all within walking distnce of the "frozen tundra".

For food, I recommend: Union Hotel in De Pere or Chili John's on Military Ave in Green Bay

For sweets, I recommend: Zesty's Frozen Custard and Seroogy's Chocolates, both in De Pere

If you are at Green Bay for a free afternoon, go to the Packer Hall of Fame. Even if you have been there awhile ago, they recently moved and updated the Hall of Fame. It used to be across the street from the stadium. When they renovated the statium, they moved the Hall of Fame to the stadium. There is so much NFL history there. I think many non-Packer fans would find something there to enjoy.

During non-game days, I think they also offer Lambeau Field tours...

Sounds rather good. Thanks to everyone on my behalf and I try to write a sort of trip report after our first visit. ^
