As an authorized user on my wife's Amex card does payment history get reported on my credit report for me as well as my wife? Just curious as I would like to build my history to the next level. Have a fico of 768 at this point with the mortgage and vehicle. Thanks!

Seriously doubt it. Your wife is the one who is legally responsible for the charges, not you, so her credit will be what is built up.

Yes. With Amex, if you are an authorised user on her card, her account will show up on your credit report. On an Equifax report the "account owner" field will show: "Authorized user"
768 is a pretty decent score BTW. Since you have the mortgage and the car, what are you looking to do?

Hm, it must differ between Amex products then. I put additional users on my business card, each of whom received their own card. I didn't have to specify their SSNs or any other identifying information, so I don't know how their credit reports would be located and modified.

Personal Amex products ask for an SSN for the authorised user.

There is a difference. It seems that business "additionals" do not show up on personal credit reports. For AMEX's personal products, authorized users seem to report just like any other credit card.
The only way to know for sure though is to pull your credit report. If the OP has not already done it, each state now allows 1 free credit pull a year from each of the 3 major credit reporting agencies. The last few "hold out" states went into effect in September of last year. The URL for the free yearly reports is https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp It does not however allow you to have your score for free, but you can pull your report directly from each of the CRAs.

My Amex shows up on my wifes credit report since she is an authorized user. Ditto for Citi.

I have two friends that are long time investors in real estate (Land only) and are inquiring whether I may be interested in going in with them on some property. Approx 40 acres. Could be a great investment and want the highest possible credit score.

According to Equifax, anything over 760 will qualify you for the lowest mortgage interest rate out there.
