Let me see if I read this correctly. If I fly 50000 miles by Jan 20th 2007. That means I'll have advance service starting March 20th 2007. And I will retain my Platinum advance service till Dec 31st 2007. I'll be a regular Platinum member from 2008-till March 2009 :confused:

So If you qualify in Jan. That basically means you have 2 years of *G :D?

Assuming you can earn all of the required 50,000 Platinum Points between Jan 1st and Jan 20th 2007, you will be Platinum Advance (mileage bonus and *gold but no upgrade certificates) for all of 2007. In March 2008 will get your Platinum kit including the certs as well as new Platinum card with status validity through the end of March 2009.

Can you request the Platinum status card in advance?

I don't think so, but it does come pretty quickly after you qualify. At least on ANA flights your BP will indicate PLT as soon as your miles are credited and that will give you lounge access/fast track security at Haneda/Narita.

Yes, they will send you the Platinum Members card with a March 2008 expiration with your Platinum Advance Kit. You'll get lots of printed matter explaining your benefits as well as a card, but no upgrade certs. My guess is that this will arrive by end of Feb or March 2007, but they could be busy mailing out the kits for everyone who qualified for 2007 status.

Then you'll get a second card with you Platinum kit in March 2008. This one will expire in 2009.

I'm sure this is the question you were asking regarding requesting it in advance.
