If you opted out of receiving pre-approved credit card offers from Experian, Innovis, TransUnion and Equifax by calling 888 5OPT OUT (888 567 8688) then you will not receive these offers.
You can call back and ask to be put back on the list and then will receive the bonus point offers.
After you receive the offer you want call and take you name off the list.

Just because you remove yourself from the opt-out list doesn't mean that you'll get the offer in the mail.
Getting promotional offers and credit card offers is like playing roulette or the lotto, there's no rhyme or reason why you get the offer and from whom you get it from and why they chose you instead of someone else with the same credit score. The only difference would be is if you have good credit, you get good offers and from better companies, if you have bad credit, you'll get bad offers and sub-prime credit card companies.
I signed up for the 50K bonus but I think it's over because about a month later I recieved a similar offer but this time it was for only 25K with the same conditions.
If you read through the credit forums, getting yourself removed from the promotional list is a smart idea. I'm not saying that if you stay on the list bad things can happen but if you want to play things safe, get your name removed.
First off, there's horror stories of people opening up credit cards by stealing the offers you get in the mail.
But the main thing is that evil collection agencies can get a hold of you through the promotional listings. There's bad stories such as people who apply for mortgages and soon after they get a collection agency who reports that they owe some bogus amount. It's because the CA got it from a promotional list and saw you were looking for a mortgage and bascially hold you hostage, even if you don't owe the money, it becomes your duty to prove it. Also, let's say you do owe money to somebody such as a old medical bill or bill that you never paid because you moved away from your house and you never got the bill. They find you through the promotional lists that the credit agency's sell.
For the most part, it's safer to be off the list but you lose out if there are great offers.
