Personally, I have no seat preference for the airbus.
For the 747s, I like 86A on the upper deck (exit row-window):
-you have the side-storage bin at your disposal
-you don't have to reach over to get to the mag/program pocket
-you don't have to climb over the sleeping aisle pax to get out, being an exit-row seat
-You get to chat with the FAs during T/L as their jump seats are on this side
-The PTV comes out of the armrest and can be adjusted easily. Those on non exit-rows are fixed to the back of the seats in front
Beware though that the overhead bins on the upperdeck are tiny and the rollaboard may not fit (easily).
Enjoy your first CX flight! May the op-up god smile upon you and you get to sit in 2A/K, my two favourite seats in the sky :)
