I had an interesting call a few days ago. Amex Rep called and wanted to know if I had a minute to go over the benefits of my Platinum Business card. I said OK thinking he might tell me something I didn't already know. After listing several of the major features of the card he told me he was going to give me 5000 points as a bonus, I think he called it. Who am I to argue?
He mentioned that he noticed I had not used any of my points yet, I am relatively new to Amex having just come over from the dark side about 10 months ago. I supect this was just a goodwill gesture since I am new to the company and coming up on renewal time. After learning of all the benefits of the Platinum card I applied for a green card and went straight to Platinum and canceled the green.
So far I am very happy with the card. I have had some good upgrades at FS Boston, RC STL most recently, so I will keep the card. Several other card beneefits have proven useful as well.
Anyone else have an experience like this?
