I'm planning to each Thanksgiving dinner in LA and then hopefully spend the rest of the long weekend in Mexico. I found an itinerary for $430 that goes something like the following:
11/23 SFO-LAX
11/24 LAX-SJD
11/27 LAP-SFO
Has anyone gone from SJD to LAP? Is it easy to find transit?
Also, I don't even know what LaPaz is like.
Finally, if anyone has any LAX-Mexico vacations they can recommend for 11/24-27, I would greatly appreciate it.

Plenty of transport from San José Del Cabo to La Paz - shouldn't take more than 3 hours by bus. Iirc in town there is "El Aguila" bus, about every hour, about USD $ 11 ~ 12, two routes - the shorter route takes more time and is more scenic. The longer route is via Todos Santos and takes less time. Peninsula is an executive class bus service connecting them as well. ("Servicio Ejecutivo" busses are pretty nice, like domestic FC in the US or better, airline style.)
Local folks will be able to direct you as to current schedules, etc.

We drove "the triangle" last year in a rented car, from San Jose del Cabo, through Cabo San Lucas, up the coast to Todos Santos, across to LaPaz and back to San Jose del Cabo the shorter-but-longer route. It was really neat. The ocean views along the drive to Todos Santos are beautiful, and there are plenty of places in Todos Santos to eat, take a break, etc.
Lapaz is interesting, bigger than I thought it would be. We ate a late lunch at a hotel near the airport that used to be a Crowne Plaza but is no longer. La paz tested my shaky Espagnol more than Cabo does, as not many spoke English. Good thing I can at least ask for el bano! Also, the gas station guy in La Paz had no English, but we still managed to get gassed up and tender a decent propina.
The drive back from LaPaz to SJD was neat, through the mountains and lots of small villages. Beware free range cattle that use the roads and tend to appear suddenly around a curve in the road.
Maybe you could get someone to let you rent a car in Cabo and drop it off in La Paz.
