Thought I'd make this a separate thread even though there is a Ryanair baggage thread going on already.
Got some news about Ryanair and baggage:
The baggage charge is going up in September - AND from November (just in time for the Christmas shopping!) the "normal" charge will only cover checked baggage up to 15k, everything above that will be charged at excess baggage rates.
So - it's basically gone full circle. Ryanair used to have a 15k baggage limit, they increased this to 20k when they introduced a baggage charge (and made a big song and dance about it), they've now gone back to 15k.
The new charge for bags of up to 15k will be EUR 4.50 if prebooked or EUR 10.00 if not. Above that it's EUR 8.00 per kilo.
