American Express Membership Rewards - Amex Points To Lufthnsa??best Route???

i need your help.I want to use my AMEX points to upgrade on a Lufthansa flight, so i need to transfer the points to my Lufthansa Frequent Flyer account.I have an International Centurion dollar card.Which is the best and quickest route for my AMEX points to become Lufthansa miles?? I have a accounts on SPG(3amex points=1 spg) Delta,Continental,Virgin,Air France and Alitalia.I just opened a BMI account and again the rate is 3:1.What do you experts recommend.My trip is on the 22/7.

Probably impossible to achieve this by the 22nd. The obvious routes are via SPG or, for a worse conversion rate, Priority Club. However, the time taken to move your points into SPG and then across to LH may be too long.

I assume you are not LH SEN? If so, don't forget there is a 50,000 mile overdraft available to you.

In general, BY FAR the best bet for *A for UK residents is to transfer to BMI. Not only is it 1:1 out of Amex, but BMI redemptions take far fewer miles, especially if you use cash and miles. First Class on LH to Singapore ex LHR, for example, is just 80,000 BMI miles plus £400ish plus tax. Business Class from LHR to South Africa on SAA is just 37,500 BMI miles plus £225ish plus tax. Don't forget to get the UK BMI credit card, which has a 20,000 mile sign-up bonus.
