Sixt - Sixt / Hilton Honors

Sixt appears to have a deal with Hilton Honors. They claim on their website to give discounts and upgrades to HH members, of which I'm a Diamond level.

Is it just as simple as calling them or booking online and putting in the Diamond # on the web form, and using the promo code for Diamonds from the Hilton site?

Has anyone tried this and did you get (a) the discount (35%) and (b) an upgrade?

Haven't tried (a), but you can get a Sixt Platinum card by following the link (http://www.e-sixt.com/main/common/all/docs/rental/sixt_cards/sixt_platinum_card.php?lang=en) on their site. Once you get it (you may get an email asking to fax a copy of your HH Diamond card), it will automatically compute the discount whenever logged into the Sixt site (the % discount depends on the referral source, 35% is standard with partners' top levels, but LH and AF/KL top tiers get 40%).

I believe odds of getting the promised upgrade are better showing Sixt's own Plat card (which does yield a one-class upgrade when available) than a partner card at locations unfamiliar with the program benefits.

It's pretty easy to apply for the Sixt Plat card. It will take up to 4 week till you get your card. If you need to rent earlier just give them a call and you'll get the discount as well.

If you rent with Sixt your chances are pretty good to get an upgrade even without status. Being Sixt Plat Card holder (or Hilton Dia what is the same) you will get an upgrade much likely. I still had 20+ rentals this year and got several double upgrades as well. Can't remember a rental in the last month where I didn't get the upgrade. ^ :)

As you were posting this I was posting concerning Sixt Gold/Hilton Gold issue
I found that the internet rate is much lower than using Sixt GOld card. Unless of course they deduct 20pct or whatever after the booking but it doesnt show that.
