Budget Travel - From Japan to China

Does anyone know an airline that offers cheap flights between Japan and China? I did not find any lowcost carrier at all ex Japan.

I shall fly:
- on (around) Aug 10 from Tokyo (or any other Japanese airport) to Shanghai
- on (around) Sep 2 from Wuhan or Shanghai to Osaka (or any other Japanese airport)

Also alternatives are welcome, e.g.:
- very cheap flight to any other destination out of Japan (e.g. SE Asia)
- ferry boat from Osaka to Shanghai seems not to be a good alternative (2nd class ticket for 300 - 400 USD)

Nope, No low cost carriers from Japan to China. Flights from Japan to China, Korea to China, and Taiwan to China are generally relatively expensive. What kind of prices have you found? We can tell you if it's good or not.

As for other countries, I'd check with a Japanese Travel agent. All the english sites I generally look at are quite expensive compared to what a good local travel agent can find.

However, according to the rules of the Budget forum, we are not a travel agency so a request for a fare from X to Y are not really permitted.

Unfortunately the timing of your trip is not great--you're getting close to the Obon holidays in Japan which are a fairly peak travel time. But I agree with party_boy that you may do better contacting a Japanese consolidator.

There is no great hope. The cheapest flight they are offering me is Tokyo - Hong Kong for around 400 USD. Pha, in this case I have to fly back to Europe :(

yes, that is the best idea. using miles is the second best. these two options are infinitely preferable to spending $2000.
