Hi.
I've done a search for places to stay but haven't found any postings.
I'm heading to Carmel next weekend for a wedding and I'm looking for a place to stay. Not looking for the cheapest place to stay...but I don't want to spend 500$ a night either...more like a cool place to stay with the boyfriend after the wedding...
Anyone got any suggestions on a place to stay? It could be in Monterey, but the closer to Carmel the better...

I may be a little partial, but stay in Carmel. We live there part time and it is beautiful.

Regarding suggestions for places to stay - The Pine Inn is very nice and has a great restaurant. Right in town. They also have a "sister" hotel across the street that has just been redone. It is called the Tally Ho. Other nice places are the La Playa, MonteVerde Inn, Normandy Inn, Auberge Carmel (although a bit expensive). There are so many places to stay; all within walking distance to town and the beach.

Have a great time.

Not exacly in Carmel, but I do have fond memories of Seascape Resorts off of HWY 1 it was about 150 or so a night. Private beach...and a great restaurant. There is another hotel in Carmel, but I can't remember the name....Madonna inn? I hear that's pretty famous. Never been there myself.

Carmel Valley has some nice spa resorts (Quail Lodge, Carmel Valley Ranch, etc.). Or check out the Post Ranch Inn on the coast or one of the luxe hotels in the Pebble Beach area. Your limiting factor may be availability, not cost.

Don't know if by "next weekend" you meant THIS weekend (8-9 July), but here are some thought nonetheless:

Noting that you indicate Hilton as one of your programs, the Hilton in Monterey (rebranded as a Hilton Garden Inn after the remodel just completed) was quite enjoyable when we stayed there before the remodel. However, I should note that Diamond status got us a very large room (jr. suite?).

Perhaps above your price range, but ms. jmd001 still raves about the (Hyatt) Highlands Inn, just south of Carmel. In fact, we're going back at the end of August, getting a cheap room in exchange for listening to a 90-minute time share pitch.

But all in all, one of the inns in the town of Carmel itself has a lot to recommend itself. Regrettably, no recent experience with any.

--> After you get back, post where you did stay and your review of the place.

There may be an Madonna Inn in the Carmel area, but the more "famous" one (with every room decorated differently plus its "Rock Rooms") is MUCH further down the road in San Luis Obispo.

....no room at the inn. I tried but all the B&B's wanted 2 nights...and every place was booked also.

Thanks for all the advice though. I'll try to get down there some other time.

If possible, stay in contact with the "2 night min." places. Hotels often drop that requirement as they get close to the date. You might ask for the manager on duty when you call.
