Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Any notewothy J-fare deals to Asia?

Curious whether anyone has found any great deals ex-LAX or SFO to any major Asian destination in J?

SQ has been offering their LAX-TPE R/T's for $2190 in Raffles - a very attractive fare that can get one to Asia very reasonably, especially if one is willing to fly economy from TPE to BKK, etc....

I've tried many different destinations on CX's site but can't seem to find anything this attractive and I'd prefer to fly CX and stay within the OneWorld family.

Does CX offer their "All Asia Pass" in J? certainly be a great mileage earner, not sure about the cost though, or even if they have it available.

Yes they do. But unlike the one they offer from Australia, the one from North America do not accrue miles on any programme.

For deals in J or F on CX, you must contact a TA as CX does not advertise these special on published fares.

It depends on the number of destinations you want. If you need only two asian destinations in addition to HKG, then the following might be right for you...

CX currently offers a special contract to certain Asian travel agents in Canada where you can "add-on" side trips from HKG to destinations such as XMN, PEK, TPE, ICN, NRT (and a few other ones in Japan) for only about CAD 400-500 for F and CAD 200-300 in J RT from HKG. (sorry, these sidetrips in F/J are not available to destinations such as BKK, SIN, DPS as they only available in Y). The only catch is that you have to buy either a published/or nett fare Canada - HKG - Canada First/Business Class ticket to HKG or beyond.

From what my travel agent told me, the catch is that "HKG" cannot appear on the ticket more than three times.

eg. YYZ-HKG-TPE-HKG-ICN-HKG-YYZ (by adding HKG-TPE-HKG, and HKG-ICN-HKG to a YYZ-HKG-YYZ ticket).

or

eg. YYZ-HKG-BKK-HKG-NRT-HKG-YYZ (by adding HKG-NRT-HKG sidetrip to YYZ-HKG-BKK-HKG-YYZ ticket, note: HKG-BKK sidetrips in F/J are not available, so a YYZ-HKG-BKK vv. ticket must be purchased)

Another offer currently available and can be "combined" with the add-ons mentioned above is called the "Fly Further" promotion. This is where for the price of a full J ticket to HKG, you can fly to one more asian destination for free (using same principle above, except you can get YYZ-HKG-BKK vv. for the price of YYZ-HKG).

All of these fare earn miles too :-)

Where have you found this fare, and how?

The Cathay July Deal Of The Month is pretty exceptional. I just booked SFO-BKK-HKG-SFO in early September in Economy for USD $771 including taxes. Bangkok stop is required, but it can be as short as a day. You can build Hong Kong stopover in enroute or ex-BKK.
